Harvey Probber (1922–2003) was an American furniture designer and manufacturer known for his influential role in shaping mid-century modern interiors in the United States. Based in New York, Probber founded his own firm, Harvey Probber Inc., in the late 1940s and quickly gained recognition for producing high-quality, modern furnishings that balanced clean lines with luxurious materials.

Probber is particularly noted for pioneering modular seating systems in the 1950s, allowing flexible configurations that responded to changing interior needs—an approach that became a defining feature of modern living spaces. His work often incorporated rich woods, brass, and upholstery, blending modernist principles with a refined, upscale sensibility.

Throughout his career, Probber’s furniture was widely specified by architects and interior designers for both residential and commercial projects. Today, his designs remain highly regarded within the mid-century market for their craftsmanship, innovation, and enduring versatility.
