An Italian mid century cabinet attributed to Paolo Buffa. Rich geometric inlayed wood with brass hardware. Four cabinet doors open to reveal inner shelves, two drawers and two open center cupboards. Sourced in Northern Italy.

Paolo Buffa (1903–1970) was a renowned Italian architect and furniture designer celebrated for his elegant, handcrafted pieces that blended neoclassical traditions with modern design. After graduating from the Politecnico di Milano in 1927, Buffa worked with Gio Ponti and Emilio Lancia before establishing himself as a key figure in Italian luxury interiors. Known for his meticulous craftsmanship, Buffa created bespoke furniture featuring exotic woods, intricate inlays, and refined detailing, often catering to an elite clientele.

Buffa frequently exhibited at the Milan Triennale, earning acclaim for his innovative and high-quality designs. His work is included in prominent collections, such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and remains highly collectible among enthusiasts of mid-century and Art Deco design. Buffa’s legacy endures through his timeless approach to merging artisanal tradition with modern sophistication.
