"Melaina" chair, designed by Rodolfo Bonetto(1929-1991) for Driade in 1970. Manufactured in Italy. Original gloss white finish.
Benetto was a Milan native with a passion for ABS plastic and fiberglass, counterbalance, and symmetrical curves. Benetto designed everything from small interior items, lighting, and furniture to surgical lasers and ski boots. Benetto has worked with Guzzini, Driade, Luci Italia, and B-line, among others, in the home sector. Benetto’s Boomerang armchair (1968) is in the permanent collection at the MoMA and his u-shaped magazine holder and monobloc “Melaina” armchair for Driade (1970) remain space-age staples.
