Cattelan was born in Thiene, Italy into a family of craftsmen. Prior to founding the luxury furniture company Cattelan Italia in 1979 with his wife, Silvia Cattelan, Giorgio designed seating for Cidue. At Cattelan Italia, Giorgio specialized in modern geometric, expandable dining tables, primarily constructed from marble and metal.
